After Facial Care Guide: How to Keep Your Glow at Tu Es Belle Spa Houston
Your skin is fresh, renewed, and glowing after your facial at Tu Es Belle Spa — now let's keep it that way. Whether you just had a HydraFacial, chemical peel, microneedling, BBGlow, or any of our 21 specialized treatments, what you do in the hours and days after your appointment makes the difference between "nice glow" and "long-lasting radiance."
This is the complete after-facial care guide our Medical Esthetician gives every client at our Galleria/Uptown Houston spa. Save it, screenshot it, and follow it every time.
Do's: Glow-Up Habits After Your Facial
Hydrate like a queen. Drink lemon-infused water or herbal tea to flush toxins and keep your skin plump and dewy.
Eat clean, nourishing meals. Focus on whole foods, fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Your skin repairs from the inside out.
SPF 50 every single day. Rain or shine, even indoors near windows. We recommend Epionce Daily Shield Lotion Tinted SPF 50 — it's what we apply at the spa after every facial.
Lip love at night. Apply Aquaphor before bed to keep lips soft and moisturized.
Eye serum nightly. Helps prevent puffiness and the appearance of fine lines around the delicate eye area.
Gentle cleanse AM and PM. Use lukewarm water and a non-stripping cleanser (harsh cleansers undo your treatment's work).
Clean hands, glowing face. Always wash your hands before touching your skin — bacteria is the enemy of fresh skin.
Fresh linens weekly. Change your pillowcases and sheets often to avoid breakouts. Silk or clean cotton pillowcases work best.
Sanitize phones and glasses. These touch your face all day and carry bacteria straight to your fresh skin.
Clean your makeup brushes. Weekly minimum. Never put dirty brushes back on your glowing skin.
Moisturize religiously. Hydration is your new best friend. Use the Epionce products your esthetician recommends.
Stick to your esthetician's plan. Use only the professional skincare products recommended for your skin type.
Don'ts: Glow-Killers for the First 72 Hours
No makeup for at least 24 hours (longer for peels and microneedling). Let your pores breathe.
No alcohol or smoking. Both dehydrate your skin and slow the healing process.
Avoid spicy, salty, and greasy foods. These can trigger irritation and swelling.
No sauna, steam, or sweating workouts. Your skin needs calm, not heat.
Skip chlorine pools. Harsh chemicals equal irritation on freshly treated skin.
No tanning or direct sun. Even short exposure can damage fresh skin and undo your treatment.
Avoid active ingredients. No retinol, vitamin C, AHA/BHAs for 3 to 5 days after treatment.
Hands off. No picking, scratching, or touching your skin. This is the #1 rule.
No random skincare experiments. Stick to professional products only — now is not the time to try that new TikTok product.
No back-to-back facials or peels. Give your skin time to heal between treatments.
What's Normal After a Facial
- Mild redness or sensitivity for up to 48 hours is normal
- Sensitivity to skincare products for up to 10 days is normal
- A "purging" reaction (small breakouts) can happen 3 to 7 days after some treatments as your skin renews
If you experience anything beyond mild redness or sensitivity, text us right away at (346) 812-7727.
Why Aftercare Matters
The treatment itself is only half the equation. What you do in the days after your facial determines how long your results last, how radiant your skin looks, and whether you're ready for your next treatment on schedule.
At Tu Es Belle Spa, our Medical Esthetician at Tu Es Belle Spa walks every client through personalized aftercare based on the exact treatment you received. Whether it's a gentle Goji Facial or a more advanced PDRN & Exosome microneedling session, the aftercare plan is customized to your skin.
Glow Tip From Your Medical Esthetician
The more you baby your skin after a treatment, the longer your glow lasts. Think of aftercare like watering a plant — the treatment plants the seed, but your daily care is what makes it bloom.
FAQ: After-Facial Care in Houston
Q: How long should I wait before wearing makeup after a facial?
A: For most facials, wait at least 24 hours. For chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments, your esthetician will give you a specific timeline based on your treatment.
Q: Can I work out the same day as my facial?
A: We recommend skipping sweat-inducing workouts for the first 24 to 48 hours. Sweat, heat, and bacteria on gym equipment can irritate freshly treated skin.
Q: Why can't I use my retinol or vitamin C right after a facial?
A: These active ingredients can be too strong for freshly treated skin and may cause irritation. Give your skin 3 to 5 days to settle before reintroducing them.
Q: What sunscreen do you recommend after a facial?
A: We use and recommend Epionce Daily Shield Lotion Tinted SPF 50 — it's a botanical, barrier-first sunscreen that protects treated skin while providing a natural tint. Ask us about it at your next visit.
Q: Is redness after a facial normal?
A: Mild redness for up to 48 hours is completely normal, especially after peels, microneedling, or laser treatments. If redness lasts longer or is severe, contact us.
